Favourite Design Blog #2 – Form Fifty Five
A source of design inspiration for a while now has been FormFiftyFive. Without doubt one of the best design blogs out there. It was founded by a bunch of designers eager to share the cool things they found. Now in a world of thousands of design blogs it still stands above much of the competition. The secret seems to be in the quality of it’s content. Every image used is of exceptional quality and the work featured is interesting and varied. If we had one criticism then it would be that we would like to see more digital projects.
Watch out for Scottish MINI in 2010
If you are around in Edinburgh at Hogmanay 09/10 then chances are that you will see a MINI dressed as a Highland Cow driving about the streets of Edinburgh. To promote Peter Vardy’s status as the Number one for used MINIs in Scotland Whitespace has created Scottish MINI – a loveable city MINI that has never seen the beautiful Scottish scenery so has decided to travel around Scotland and meet the population. The car was created by Inchmere Design who were the team behind the Innocent Smoothie grass Vans.

MWM Graphics
We have been admiring the work of illustrator Matt W. Moore in his site MWM Graphics over the past few days. There some truly mad stuff here.

Twitterpicture Limited edition print
238 Tweets, 48 Hours, 14 Fineliners, 2 Penguins, 1 #TwitterPicture. The Twitter picture is complete. (Although the Lumberjack is missing his suspenders and bra). Johanna Basford Twitterpicture project is now available as a limited edition print for £150.

Johanna Basford’s Twitterpicture
Fantastic project by the talented Johanna Basford in which over a 48 hour time period she is attempting to draw objects as suggested by her Twitter followers. Simply tweet your object with hashtag #twitterpicture and then sit back and let Johanna do all the work. This is why they invented Twitter! You can see the latest artwork on her blog.

The Second World War from the Guardian
Stumbled upon this advert for the Guardian’s 7 part World War II supplement from Ben Terrett, writer of blog Noisy Decent Graphics. Such a simple but great idea.
The Design Beast
Originally featured on the cover of The Drum magazine this is Design Beast by Sophie Rollier which has been turned into a handmade toy by Pam MacDonald (both from RRD Creative Edinburgh.)

Edinburgh Fringe T-shirts
The Edinburgh Fringe launched the 2009 t-shirts including designs by Whitespace relating to the 2009 edFringe campaign (Pro. Ed Hegg would be proud!) and Kukuxumusu. Buy them now at the Fringe shop.
For more t-shirts and crazy drawing type product for Kukuxumusu, see his own shop.
Igu
Another great example of illustration from Digmeout collection of artists – Igu. Her illustration characters are sweet and happy, reminds me the characters from the Western picture books.
