The quite frankly spectacular Record Tripping
Following on from the Selleck Waterfall Sandwich here’s another strange one. Record Tripping from the magic that is the Bell Brothers. If you fancy yourself as a bit of DJ then you could be quite good at this. The idea is to complete puzzles by speeding up or slowing down the record whilst a story is told with the background. Trust me, it’s better just to check out. It’s really good.
The amazing Selleck Waterfall Sandwich
That’s right. A website consisting of neatly photoshopped images of the man, his moustache, a waterfall and a sandwich. Why? No idea. But somehow it’s strangely entertaining. I feel there is a Whitespace photoshop competition in this. Maybe a Burt Reynolds version.
Stunning digital creative from the kings of the north
It’s just as well Northen Kingdom are from Sweden, the home of IKEA. Handy for picking up a new awards cabinet every other day. One of the many great examples of work is the the Teamgeist. To create a buzz about the new German football team’s strip they create an interactive game. The look and feel of the film used would not look out of place in any Hollywood movie. We could blab on about them but best to let them tell us what they do. It’s quite inspiring:
“Storytelling is our trade. We provide unique interactive communication. Connecting brands with people. Creating emotional bonds and experiences that make people feel, reflect and discuss. We work methodically and are always excited about new ideas. When we work with you, we’re a focused and passionate team. From the wildest concepts to the finest details, passion, perfection and innovation are at the heart of everything we do. If you want to break boundaries with your project, working with us is a good start.”
And please, please, please check out their amazing showreel on Vimeo.
Favourite Design Blog #2 – Form Fifty Five
A source of design inspiration for a while now has been FormFiftyFive. Without doubt one of the best design blogs out there. It was founded by a bunch of designers eager to share the cool things they found. Now in a world of thousands of design blogs it still stands above much of the competition. The secret seems to be in the quality of it’s content. Every image used is of exceptional quality and the work featured is interesting and varied. If we had one criticism then it would be that we would like to see more digital projects.
Jaw dropping vision of the universe
This movie showing the known universe created by the American Museum of Natural History really makes us feel a little small.

Ripping off Anthony Burrill
Whitespacers went along in force to the excellent Long Lunch talk by Anthony Burrill on Tuesday night. Mr Burrill mentioned that his work had been ripped off quite few times and that it was quite flattering so the Whitespace design team decided to each produce their own Anthony Burrill style poster. Oh and he has an exhibition opening Thu 11 Feb at Analogue Books.
David Shrigley does Pringle (not the crisps)
David Shrigley has managed to create a corporate viral for well known and highly respected jumper brand Pringle in his own style. Maybe not as cutting as some of his work but still it’s pretty impressive. Some Fine animation from regular Airside collabrorate Jimi Newport
Wrangler Blue Bell Spring/Summer
The guys at Wrangler Jeans must of been chucking around a few good ideas before they came up with this nice site with a extra nice dash of Flash. Can’t help but think this would be really effective if it is was used for a banner campaign. Which it probably was.
